1. It Begins... (instrumental)

2. Two dead on Lake Herman RD
Two young lovers/ two young lover’s forever silenced/Two dead lovers/ two dead lovers face down in the dirt/Two lives shattered/ five shots from my .22 in her back/Two lives wasted/ two kids dead on Lake Herman road/In the wrong place, at wrong time/should be scared ‘cause this is going to hurt/my eyes burn in anger/So remote it almost easy/as I load the tool of my trade/light the sky with blood and screams/

from the hillside (hear me)/air is thick (what I want is to own your soul)/Perfect place (hear me)/ start my rage (now for all time).
Anger grows (know me)/passing days (humans are the most dangerous game)/Boy and girl (know me)/bring my pain (now for all time)
The ghetto's that makeup the black neighborhoods/the hatred grows with each passing day/the houses remind us of thriving times gone past, a boom town bust now totally rundown/My anger reflects this growing dissent, that boy and girl will bring my message/ I guess he was an athlete, a star student / I guess she was a good girl/

3. The Wait (instrumental)

4. "I want to report a murder"
I stalk my prey/stake out the park/that whore and her date/ sitting in the car/ I can sense her fear / she knows I’m watching/I can taste their fear/ (2X)/Blue Rock Springs/She knew the Jensen girl/ it’s the Fourth of July/ six months of waiting/six months of trying/Fireworks in the sky/it’s the Fourth of July/Vallejo has no idea whose about to die/She knew the Jensen girl/and that helped seal her fate/ six months of waiting/six months of trying/

*"I want to report a murder. If you will go one mile east on Columbus Parkway you will find kids in a brown car. They were shot with a nine millimeter Luger. I also killed those kids last year. Goodbye”.
*(transribed from phone call by the Zodiac to local police)

5. July 31st
*Dear Editor,
This is the murderer of the 2 teenagers last Christmas at lake Herman and the girl on the fourth of July near the golf course in Vallejo. To prove I killed them I will state some facts which only I and the police know:
Christmas:
brand name of ammo, Super X; 10 shots were fired; the boy was on his back with his feet to the car; the girl was on her right side, feet to the west;
Fourth of July
Girl was wearing patterned slacks; the boy was also shot in the knee; brand name of the ammo used is Western.
Here is part of the cipher. The other two parts of this cipher are being mailed to the editors of the Vallejo Times and the SF examiner. I want you to print this cipher on the front page of your paper. In this cipher is my identity.
If you do not print this cipher by the afternoon of Friday the first, Aug ’69 I will go on a killing rampage Friday night.
(stop here?)*I will cruise around all weekend killing lame people in the night, then move on to kill again until I end up with a dozen people over the weekend.
*(lyrcs taken from Zodiac letter to S.F. Chroicle on 7/31/69)

6. The stranger at Lake Berryessa
Try to stay calm when you’re scared and bound/not a word or a sound/Try to stay calm when you’re scared and bound/face down on the ground/
Watching thru the trees/the hills in the scene/stupid girl I told you twice/Need your car, on the run/killed a guard for fun/I’ll take your life
Heart to heart you lay beside her/face to face you share your fate/I’ll tie you up/I’ll bound your hands/I’ll kill you first/ now you will die/
I watch boy and girl/ on the edge of Twin Oak Ridge/on the run from Deer Lodge/don’t try to be a hero/
*They are/two miles north/of park/headquarters/they’re in/a white Volkswagen/ “I’m the one you want”
I’m the one you’re looking for
*(lyric from Zodiac writting on the side of the Volkswagen)

7. The Trophy (Paul Stine)

*(From Oct 13, 1969 letter to SF Chron about Stine)
School kids make nice targets/Think I’ll wipe out a bus now/pick off the kiddies as they come out/Hear the fear growing real loud/
Into the back of his cab now/lets go out to Presido Heights/put a bullet thru the back of his head/blood reflects in the street lights/
Chorus
And I wait (3x)/I’m waiting for the jury to deliberate/your honor will you read the judgment line/

8. Oct. 13th

*(October 13, 1969 letter to S.F. Chronicle Paul Stine/bloody shirt letter)
This is the Zodiac speaking. I am the murderer of the taxi driver over by Washington st and Maple st last night. To prove this, here is a blood stained piece of his shirt. I am the same man who did the people in the North Bay area. The SF police could have caught me last night, if they had searched the park properly instead of holding road races with their motorcycles seeing who could make the most noise. The car drivers should’ve just parked their cars and sat there quietly waiting for me to come out of cover.
School children make nice targets. I think I shall wipe out a school bus some morning. Just shoot the front tire and pick off the kiddies as they come bouncing out
.

9. Modesto terror ride
Who will save you now/on your lonely drive/Who protects you from/the evil on the road/Who will hear you scream/from the man in dark/
Who will try to help/save your life from me/Who will save you now/highway 132/Who protects you from/stranger runs you down
Who will hear you scream/you start to realize/Who will try to help/you know he wants you dead/

1. “hey, your rear wheel is really wobbling, I’d be happy to tighten your lug nuts if you want”
“uh, I don’t..”
”don’t worry I’m happy to help. It’ll only take a minute”
“ok, thank you so much”
“Hmmm, might be worse than I thought, let me give you a ride to the gas station, they should have a repair garage”

2. *“We’ve been driving for a little while, you passed another service station”. (nervously) you always go around helping people like this”
“When I’m done with them, they don’t need any help. You know you’re going to die. I’m going to kill you. I’ll kill you and then I’m going to throw your baby out”.
*(transcribed from Kathleen John's conversation with the Zodiac Killer)

I know what you’re gonna say/don’t bother begging for your life/It won’t do you any good/ this will be the last day of your life /
You can’t trust a stranger/ don’t bother begging for your life /I know what you’re gonna say…

I can feel a change inside/I hope you know that you’re going to die/Satisfy my sick desires/this will be the last day of your life/I can’t wait to hear you scream/ I hope you know that you’re going to die/I know what you’re going to say…

10. I'm NOT Paul Avery
*(Paul Avery's Thoughts on the Zodiac Killer (October 12, 1970)
One year and one day ago, the killer who calls himself Zodiac put a 9-mm. bullet through the brain of San Francisco cab driver Paul Stine and then posted a letter to The Chronicle boasting of the slaying.
Stine, he wrote, was victim number five. He bragged he would continue his killing spree - choosing victims at random - and that he wouldn't get caught.
Zodiac is still at large today.
And he is now claiming he has murdered 13 persons.
Homicide detectives who've been hunting Zodiac for nearly two years frankly admit he is as much an enigma now as he was on Dec. 20, 1968, when he chalked up his first two victims.

*(Chorus-from Halloween Card sent by Zodiac to Paul Avery)
You are doomed/From your secret pal:
I feel it in my bones/you ache to know my name/and so I'll clue you in . . ."/but why spoil the game?

*(From Gilbert& Sullivan, Ko-Ko (The Mikado) The Lord High Executioner’s aria, written by Zodiac:
I've got a little list/Of society offenders/who would never be missed/who might well be underground

*(Mon Oct 5 1970 Zodiac card to SF Chron)
"You'll hate me, but I've got to tell (you).
"The pace isn't any slower! In fact it's just one big thirteenth.
"Some of Them Fought It Was Horrible."
